The project deals with the
modelling, analysis and design of five storey’s RC framed structure for a
building located in Coimbatore under earthquake zone 3. All the analysis and
design works are carried out by industrially trusted software STAAD.Pro by
applying a load.
M25
grade of concrete and Fe415 grade of steel are used for design purpose and
these are in accordance with IS: 456. The main aim of designing this building
is to minimization of earthquake risk is certainly a necessity in order to
reduce poverty and homelessness in urban areas by identifying the critical members.
Finally, a rehabilitation programme is
proposed for that critical RC member’s to prevent the building from collapse
and make the people safe from earthquake hazards.
